Opening Schools during Covid-19

John is Head of School at Emerson School in Ann Arbor, MI.  A graduate of Villanova University (M.A. 2001) and Cornell University (B.A. magna cum laude 1992), he assumed that position in July 2015 after serving as Head of School at Barnesville School of Arts & Sciences, a country day school in Maryland, from 2006 to 2015, and as a faculty member and administrator at The Wyndcroft School in Pennsylvania from 1993 to 2006.

A dedicated educator with 25+ years of experience in independent schools; serving as a senior administrator and a classroom teacher. He is particularly interested in the roles of technology, diversity, and environmental education in children's intellectual development.
